To make it clear, I am neither a programmer nor a web designer. My roll in most of the projects I have been involved in is:
- To design the Web architectecture
- To provide the websites with a selling potential and with exposure in the internet
In two cases, PrivateHousesCuba and Artefacto.org I had the idea and created partnerships to make it possible.
Some examples of the projects that have taught me the last few years are:
Pensión Alba and Hostal Nuevo Colón :
www.pensionalba.com and www.hostalnuevocolon.com- My 2 first web projects working for Mirai in 2002 with age 22.
- Budgets: US$ 300 per website.
- They were two of the first five hostels with online presence in Spain.
- They have sold together more than 25.000 Rooms trough their websites (€ 1,25 Millions)
- Former Pension Alba (with 7 basic rooms) is now Hotel Alba 3* with a beautiful façade with artistic interest and very comfortable rooms
Hotel Majestic
www.hotelmajestic.es- 6 companies and 22 people involved in the project.
- About 50.000 € spent.
- 7 months.
- € 5 million sold through the website since then.
- Time passes and the site stills a reference in the Spanish Hotel Sector.
- E-Mascaró’s (web development) first project in the tourism industry. Now they are nº1 developers for sites related with tourism.
- First complete XML integration in a Spanish independent hotel with the hotel’s database permitting advanced Revenue Management strategies.
- First complete Content Management System for an independent hotel in Spain.
Hotel Inglaterra
www.hotel-inglaterra.com- Based on hotelmajestic.es (both web architecture and technology)
- Done in less than one month!!
- About 10.000 € spent
- € 0,4 millions sales in 2005 and growing each year.
PrivateHousesCuba
www.privatehousescuba.com- Intermediation for Private Houses in Cuba (Casas Particulares) as an alternative for Hotels and Tourist Resorts
- Developed in 2004 with a mere 50$ budget.
- I created a partnership with a Spanish engineer, a French web designer and a Cuban location manager to make it possible.
- About 3.000 reservation requests for private houses in Cuba.
- More than 200 houses available in the portal.
Artefacto
www.artefacto.org- Project in process since November 2007.
- We are going to offer web projects for artists (websites + graphic design + positioning in the internet + exposure via Social Networks).
- I have created a partnership with an artist, a web designer, a graphic designer and an art critic to make it possible.
- We want to provide websites for artists done by artists
